Entrance gateposts to Franco's Bar in Positano

Let’s enjoy a virtual happy hour together, shall we?

My mind escapes to last summer at Franco’s Bar, perched up high in Positano at Le Sirenuse on the Amalfi coast.

Positano's pastel houses climbing the hillside above the sea
Guests seated on the terrace at Franco's Bar at dusk

It was a blue and white, sexy piece of patio heaven.

Bartenders at work under the striped blue and white awning

There were striped awnings and artsy, organic sea creature-looking lamps at the bar.

Terrace at Franco's with blue chairs and the gilded fountain

I was charmed by the white-piped blue cushioned chairs and cozy tables.

Potted lemon tree on the terrace at Franco's Bar

We sat around a huge potted lemon tree.

Dip dyed blue and white ceramic candle holder

I so wanted these dip dyed, stylish candle holders!

Guests at Franco's Bar in front of the yellow shell fountain

It was great people watching with a pleasant hum of buzzy conversation and DJ tunes.

Chef Bobby Flay walked in. I did not gawk and take his picture. You will just have to trust me on this.

Detail of the gilded shell and scroll fountain

I swooned over this huge, bright yellow fountain.

What a fantasy! A true, custom work of art!

Close up of the carved gilt fountain surround

It looks like thick, yummy folds of fresh fettuccine, right? I decided to have pasta that night.

Lantern and climbing vine beside the gilded fountain

Those vines. The lantern. That fountain. A killer combo.

Ceramic dish hand painted with a view of Positano

Wait, a picture on a cocktail! How did they do that? Who cares! Cheers darling!

Bowls of olives and popcorn on a blue tiled table

Yummy popcorn and olives. Thank you!

Sip. Relax. Breeze.

View from the terrace over Positano at sunset

Fading sun. Fragrant roses. Boats snug in the harbor below.

The sky deepened its blue. The lamplights and streetlights began to glow.

The day was gone.

Evening began.

Positano lit up along the coastline at twilight

I hope you enjoyed this bit of armchair travel!

I know we will all meet again soon.

In the Hunt,

Pattie Jo
